Study Abroad Opportunities
Thanks
to IVCC's membership in ICISP (the Illinois Consortium for International Studies
and Programs), students have exciting opportunities to earn college credit while
studying at accredited colleges overseas! ICISP offers semester long
programs at Canterbury Christ Church University in England, the International
College of Seville in Spain, Carlow College in Ireland, X'ian International
University in China, and at Salzburg
College in Austria. Four to six week summer programs are offered in
Sydney, Australia, Dijon, France, Canterbury, England, and San Jose, Costa Rica. The curriculum emphasis is on
courses in art, world languages, history, humanities, literature and music with
additional subject areas offered as appropriate. All courses may be used to
fulfill graduation requirements or as electives for the transfer degree.
For more information on these programs, click
here to visit ICISP's website.
To be eligible for
studying abroad a student must be at least 18 by the start of the program, have
earned at least 15 college credits, passed English 1001 with at least a "B," and
have at least a 2.75 GPA.
Financial aid and scholarships may be available.
Studying abroad offers students a unique opportunity to experience another culture firsthand while earning credit towards a degree. The programs are affordable, fun and educational.
