Homework Requirements: All homework should be done before the next class period. The announced quizzes will be similar to the assigned problems. The unannounced quizzes will be the homework problems from previous assignments. You may use your homework notebooks but not your book during the homework quizzes. Label problems accurately.

Make-up tests: You are encouraged to take an exam early if you know you will miss it. The final exam will count twice. If you do not miss an exam, the final will replace your lowest test score. If you miss an exam, the final will replace your zero. If you score worse on the final exam, then all other tests will count and the final will only count once.
Make-up quizzes
: Quizzes and Projects can not be made up or taken early.
This includes homework quizzes. One quiz (lowest percentage) may be dropped.

Cheating: If you are caught cheating before the withdrawal date, you will be withdrawn from the course with a W. If you are caught cheating after the withdrawal date, you will receive an F for the final class grade.

Calculator: You will need at least a scientific calculator. You may use a graphing calculator if you want, but you must show all or your work. You may not store any information in the graphing calculator (see cheating above). A random check may occur during exams to check calculator memory.

IVCC policy: Students should follow the student handbook. "Students are expected to attend all classes regularly. If absence is unavoidable, it is the student's responsibility to explain the absence to his instructor and arrange to complete any work missed."

Withdrawal policy: Last day to withdraw is July 5, 2006. To request a withdraw from this class, the student must visit my office E-303 and fill out the withdrawal form with a signature. In my absence, the student must contact the Dean of English, Mathematics, and Education (Marianne Dzik). I will only withdraw a student if he or she has signed the withdraw form or has a 0% at midterm. All withdrawals earn a grade of "W" which does not affect the GPA but deletes the course credit(s) for the involved course(s). Withdrawal from a course can affect financial aid. Students who receive financial aid should see an advisor in the Financial Aid Office before withdrawing from a course.

Disability: If you need support or assistance because of a disability, you may be eligible for academic accommodations through the Special Populations office B-204, phone 224-0284.

Cell Phone Disruption: If your cell phone rings during class, you must fill out the form located at http://www.ivcc.edu/black/cell_phone_disruption.htm .
