Describe yourself as a writer.
What process do you go through when you’re writing? Do
you jump right in or do you make an outline first? Do you start at the beginning
or somewhere in the middle? Do you agonize over each word or just try to get
down as much as possible as quick as possible? Do you reread what you have
written as you go along or only after you’ve finished? Do you reread what
you’ve written at all? Do you use spell check? Do you look up words you
don’t know? Do you write by hand first and then put your writing on a
computer?
Where do you write? Do you write best at a computer or at a
desk? Do you write well in school or in your room at home? Can you write with
other people in the room or are they a distraction?
When do you write? Do you write at night? During the day?
Do you write the day before an assignment is due? Do you start well in advance?
What do you think of your writing habits? What have you been told in the past about your writing? What do you think you do really well? What weaknesses do you have?
