Admissions and Registration
Tuition*
1. Students shall pay $54 per semester hour tuition if they are
residents of District 513.
2. Foreign nationals, who are live-in guests of a sponsor who is a legal resident of Community College District 513, shall be charged the in-district tuition and fees as pertain to credit courses in which they register at IVCC.
3. Legal residents of Community College District 513 who are 65 or older may enroll in regularly scheduled classes tuition free, provided that classroom space exists and tuition paying students enrolled constitute the maximum number required for the course. Laboratory fees, course fees and registration fees still apply.
4. A nonrefundable registration fee of $5 for Fall 2003 will be charged to each student enrolled (except ABE, GED, and ESL students).
Extra Charge for Non-Resident Students
(See Residency Definition)
Students who are not residents of Community College District 513 shall pay an extra charge equal to the per capita cost per semester hour less tuition and state apportionment. Students may require their local community college to pay this extra charge if they apply prior to July 1 preceding the opening of school. Out-of-district colleges will be billed after the midterm of a semester for their students on a chargeback who were officially enrolled at IVCC through the 10th day of the semester.
Fees*
1. A student standard fee is payable at the beginning of each semester by all students enrolled, at the rate of $7.25 per credit hour.
2. Course supply fees will be charged.
3. Non-refundable registration fee of $5 per semester.
Fee Payment
Payment of tuition and fees are due at the published dates each semester and at the time of registration after the final payment due date.
Students who have not paid their tuition and/or fees, or who have not been issued tuition and/or fee deferments, will be dropped from their classes for non-payment. Students with deferments for tuition and/or fees must contact the Cashier department before the final payment due date. Exceptions must be approved by the Business Services personnel. Credit cards are accepted in-person, through written submission (fax/mail-in) or by telephone in the Cashier department.
Refund of Tuition and Fees
Refund of tuition and fees will be made on the following basis:
1. If a student officially drops through the Records Office on or before the tenth day of the fall or spring semester or the fifth day of the eight week summer session, a full refund will be granted.
2. Official withdrawal from the college after registration and payment of fees, but before the beginning of the semester, will entitle the student to a refund of all tuition and fees (except for the $5 registration fee). When a class is cancelled by the college, a full refund will be given.
3. Out-of-district colleges will be billed after the midterm of a semester for their students on chargeback who were officially enrolled at IVCC through the 10th day of the semester.
Tuition Deferment Policy
Students who have not paid their tuition and/or fees, or who have not been issued tuition and/or fee deferments, will be dropped from their classes each term. Students with deferments such as waivers, scholarships, loans, grants, etc... for tuition and/or fees must contact the Cashier department prior to the payment due date. Financial aid does not transmit until after the start of the semester. Failure to satisfy any financial obligation owed to the College will result in the following: forfeiture of any right to a refund of tuition and/or fees already paid, continued billing for tuition and fees, prevention from further registration, and a "Hold" placed on the release of all records (grades, transcripts, diplomas, etc.). Exceptions must be approved by the Director of Financial Aid or by the Vice President of Business Services.
* Tuition and fees are subject to change by Board of Trustees (District 513) action.
