An introductory study of the nature and activities of microorganisms and their
effect on human affairs. Topics will include functional anatomy of prokaryotic and
eukaryotic cells, microbial metabolism, microbial growth, control of microbial
growth, survey of the microbial world and microorganisms and disease.
