If a visitor should ever be drawn to the miniscule town of Streator, it would have nothing to do with the innumerable laundromats, car washes, and bars. The fine dining options are limited and the nearest shopping mall is a forty-five minute drive away. Guests from afar may have heard that the discoverer of the forsaken Pluto hailed from Streator, or they may be aware that the local library possesses some historical importance. Whatever the reason for passing through, one of the most notable locations in town is actually a decades-old cinema with a name that is certainly fitting. The theatre is bashfully wedged behind the city park, but it is boastful and incredible all lit up at night. The Majestic Theatre not only provides a much needed source of entertainment and a cherished bit of nostalgia, but it contributes to the overall well-being of the town of Streator and its citizens. |
