Selective Media
Inhibits the growth of some bacteria while selecting for the growth of others
Example:
- Brilliant Green Agar
- dyes inhibit the growth of Gram (+) bacteria
- selects for Gram (-) bacteria
- Most G.I. Tract infections are caused by Gram (-) bacteria
