This is one
example of how to report a natural hazard, your report should discuss more than
one hazard. (Your discussion can also be more in-depth.)
Natural Hazards
Flooding: In my area of Mytown,
there is little risk for flooding. According to the National Flood Insurance Program
flood map, produced by FEMA, I live in Zone C. There is a small pond at Local Park that
never floods. Local Creek is two miles away from my home. According to my grandfather and
father, a small stream located three blocks to the south floods occasionally and covers
the road with several feet of water. The location of this hazard is marked on map
#2. In addition, there are lower areas of town,
within a mile or more, that have problems with water in the basements after a big rain
(discussion with city employee). South Main
Street and areas of Thompson Street have lots of problems with water, and rely on
sump-pumps. These areas are also marked on map #2.
