Two rock exposures along the LaSalle Anticline. The LaSalle Anticline was most active during the Mississipian and Pennsylvanian Periods in Illinois. This enormous geologic feature, the axis of which is found within Matthiessen Park, may be attributed to one of the collisions that occurred between Lorentia and the other early continents.
