Using Web Graphics

Downloading images from the web is simple, but keep copyright considerations in mind. It's best to assume that everything on the Internet is copyrighted, so you should not just take any images that you like. Instead, make sure that permission has been granted for the use of any images that you download.

Fortunately, many creators of graphics have waived copyright and have made their graphics available to users at web sites that offer "free" web graphics. Before you use graphics from such web sites, make sure to read the usage policies. Some web sites provide free graphics but ask that you include a link back to the site on pages where you use the graphics. Other web sites do not require such link backs.

Copying Image from the Web

To save an image in Netscape,
put the cursor over the image, 
right mouse click and choose
"Save Image As . . ."

To save an image in Explorer,
put the cursor over the image, 
right mouse click and choose
"Save Picture As . . ."

Choose the location where you want to save the image, and remember the location. Then, import the image into FrontPage and choose "Insert Picture" to insert the image into your web page.
