Illinois Community College Student Activities Association
History
         HISTORY

The Illinois Community College Student Activities Association (ICCSAA) was started in 1978
when student activities professionals from eight community colleges in Illinois established
the constitutional foundation for a statewide organization:
    * To represent the concerns and interests of Illinois community college student activities
professionals to state organizations while facilitating communication among colleges.
    * To facilitate student development by providing opportunities for educational experiences
in student activities and related areas.
    * To provide continuity and coordination to those statewide student organizations that have
an impact on student activities and/or services at individual community college campuses.
    * To support and assist the development of student activities programs and/or services in
       Illinois community colleges.

The ICCSAA is a commission of the Illinois Council of Community College Administrators and
is the oldest of only three community college student activities associations in the United States.
